They say that timing is everything, yet ironic timing can be a treacherous road. With April approaching this past spring we had a new restaurant to open on the property, a cannabis Spa and Apothecary as well as our new Sun & Cricket shop. This was going to be our year, the year we turned a corner. Instead, at that moment, everything was put on hold and like most of you we went through a long shelter in place period where we stayed close to home, planted our garden, kept busy with projects that needed completion and reflected on the path our lives had taken. What was a surprise to us was the beauty in hitting the pause button. How often do we have an opportunity in our lives to stop the world? I can safely say that with all of the uncertainty, financial worries and extra work we continued to find daily gratitude. Some of the pivots we were forced to make will now be a part of our new ongoing practices. Most importantly as we opened back up we had to jump entirely into the operations at The Madrones and The Brambles. This has given us an unexpected gift of reconnecting with our guests, spending quality time with our staff, working together with the other businesses on the property and joining the greater community with a renewed sense of support. With grit we can prevail!

Leaving the Stigma Behind...
Inspired by the maverick spirit of the 1920's, we've recreated a vintage apothecary and spa specializing in cannabis based products that will sooth the body as well as lighten the soul and the mainstream audience is catching on quickly. Photographer Jake Michaels was on property this past month shooting The Bohemian Chemist for Conde' Nast Traveler Magazine. The area feature should be out this spring. We also had nice mention from the California State Tourism Board as a spot not to miss when visiting the area. We took a leap of faith with this new venture that features local products as well as The Bohemian Chemist line of flower from our own farm that will be available in January. Check out the menu here
